Alaska Caribou

We returned from our Alaska caribou drop hunt a couple of weeks ago and I am finally getting some photos posted.  I went with my father, father-in-law, Houston Davis, Mike Dewees, and Mike McCleery. We ended up waiting three days in Kotzebue before flying out into the field because most of the caribou were in a restricted area where planes can't land. We were finally flown out and after two days in the field with no caribou our pilot picked us up and moved us to an area where we were able to get into them with only a couple of days left.  It was pretty cold, especially leaving September weather in Arizona and going to that.  One morning we had about 5 degrees!  It was a great experience and one I hope to do again in the future.  We flew with Golden Eagle Outfitters who is an air taxi service out of Kotzebue and Delta Junction.  They worked hard to get us in front of the caribou and most of all they were honest.  I would highly recommend them to anyone needing a flying service out of Kotzebue.
